An internationally-known electronic musician, fluent in Chinese, and living in Shanghai's backyard? It's 100% true and a surprise treat is in store for all the music-loving party heads.
In a dangerous musical cocktail between two of Shanghai's most cutting edge music collectives. Subculture, purveyors of all things bass, and underground shockers Void are teaming up to bring China-based leftfield / dub / IDM act BvDub for a live Shanghai shakedown.
Bvdub is one of the hottest up-and-and coming names on the electroinica scene today. His laidback productions cross over all manner of musical territories from ambient chill out to intelligent grooving sounds for the floor.
Recording on little-known but influential record labels such as Styrax and Echospace, BvDub is much talked-about at the moment by all those with their ear to the ground.
He's China's best kept secret - as probably the only internationally recognized electronic music artist living in China - Bvdub lives in Shaoxing, Zhejiang where he works as a full time translator - so let Bvdub take you on a musical tour of his own.
Completing the very eclectic and diverse line-up on this musically-mixedup night will be Subculture's Drunk Monk and DJi, with Nat Alexander and Shanghai Ultra of Void.
