With Void unleashing its new, securely-installed
light and visuals system on the unsuspecting dancefloor for the first
time, Shanghai Ultra went on an old school tip and dropped a host of
LFO and Sheffield bleep tracks. Nat followed with a tasty selection of
his latest vinyl acquisitions on a rather rainy night as the room got
somewhat steamy and smoky.
Kri!z hit the decks around 1am and demonstrated why he's in charge of the label
charted by the likes of Derrick May and Jeff Mills. He threw down a
storming selection peppered with Token releases of course, including
the just-released Token 10 by, co-incidentally, Inigo Kennedy, who
stepped up after Kr!z to spin a dark and powerful set that had all
watching the bass bins. A verbal reminder was duly given with a sudden
break deep into Old School territory, with Altern-8's "Infiltrate 202"
and the timeless speak-and-spell tones of "LF0" by "LFO". A return to
normal punishing service was swiflty resume up till closing time.
Don't forget to check out pictures from the night , and recordings of Kr!z and Inigo's sets, featuring unreleased material
