| Traxx: "I am always one with the music" |
Read all about the larger-than-life Traxx, the fear and excitment he saw on the faces of the Void massive, and his love of humid weather.
That was quite a long set...how on earth did you manage to keep everyone moving for five hours?
I didn't plan on playin that long but i lost control of myself in the sound. Did I manage to keep people movin? I felt some people left after they got theyre kicks on seeing what they wanted to see, listen or experience, to others it was journey for them to understand the diversity of more than just one particular sound. There were also die hard fans who setout to indulge upon the entire evening. I cant judge yet I guess this question can be asked of those who came. How did they manage to keep movin for over five hours? We think electronic music fans in Shanghai will be talking about your show for quite sometime to come. How did you feel about your performance? How did your Shanghai set rate compared to others? I never expect anything with what i have which is the ability to express my emotions. I was fully concentrated to what i was tryin to accomplish in my own view i felt the session was a high moment in my life. Everytime i play I alwayz tend to go very far off into the unknown... this comes from seeing ron hardy listening to punk, going to industrial clubs seeing old music videos tryin to alwayz interpret, being incased in a clear glass..all the sessions (sets) i've played in my career will alwayz be a favorite coz theyre alwayz different. This was also a special moment that will never age for me. You were rather animated during your set and looked totally at one with your music, you even shouted out a few times, is this your normal style? All i will say is this..animation has nothin to do with it. My animation is NOT entertainment. The fact that i shouted was because i was and am alwayz one with the music. Your set went through several distinct phases, can you take us through it and tell us what was on your mind throughout? ![]() To achieve the next endeavor of the journey... to go thru the many different transformations of/for the preservation of electronic analog modulation. I was creating palletes of pattern, shapes and sound. My intention was to aim for the center temple of the body's aura for the escape to indulge in dance energy thru the physical output. What do you think about those who say that music based on the 4/4 beat sounds all the same? I know those who ask a question like this have no idea..or maybe they do. The 4/4 beat can all sound the same...but they can all be different as well. i tried to layout a blueprint of this exact definition thruout the entire session. What was your overall impression of the Void crowd and The Shelter club? What's your impression of the scene here? It wasnt a disapointment I saw and felt excitement but also fear...i'm still thinkin about this... The scene is large from what I saw in small numbers, but thatz how it usually starts but i believe theyre are more who could be involved. The people are friendly, hospitable and can make it worth ur while. How did you enjoy your trip to Shanghai? I would like to come again...it was pleasent experience that i throughly enjoyed. What was the coolest thing that happened during your trip? The workout@the gym, tryin dumplings and actually liking them and many other foods as well. The MAGLev train that goes 440 kilometers per hour!!! The Video store experience...seeing the 3 tallest buildingings in the world, the SUSHI Experience, the insane humidity which I LOVED... Anything else you want to say? SHanghai thaNk u. Letz do It again..but even deeper in the rabbit hole. Pictures courtesy of Ishan Hsiao |
